Training and awareness
All staff working with children will complete appropriate safeguarding training, including child protection awareness, safer working practice and role-specific training where required.
PACE recognises that children and young people accessing alternative provision may have experienced disruption, anxiety, vulnerability or barriers to learning.
Our role is not only to provide education, but to help create a safe, consistent and supportive environment where each child is known, listened to and protected.
PACE is committed to promoting the welfare of every child and young person we support. We work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance, safer working practices and local safeguarding expectations.

All staff working with children will complete appropriate safeguarding training, including child protection awareness, safer working practice and role-specific training where required.
Staff working directly with children will be subject to appropriate recruitment checks, including enhanced DBS checks, references and suitability checks.
Safeguarding recording, review and escalation processes will support professional accountability and continuity.
Where appropriate, PACE will work with parents, carers, schools, local authorities and other professionals to support welfare, safety and progress.
Clear expectations, communication routes and safer working practices help protect children, families and staff.
PACE contact routes should not be used as an emergency service. If a child is at immediate risk of harm, contact emergency services or the relevant local authority safeguarding team.
